Error When Installing Gnome

So, this is my first time with arch (after 4 months in Ubuntu), and I followed the beginners guide to a tee.

I started installing gnome, but it was late, and it was taking much longer than expected, so I canceled the installation while stuff was still downloading and went to bed.

I woke up this morning and tried again, pacman -S gnome
It downloads a bunch of files then I get an error: file gtk2-2.14.7-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz is corrupted. Do you want to delete it. I said yes, then I get the error: gtk2-2.14.7-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz is invalid or corrupted.

I tried again, and said no, but I get the same error.

Re: Error When Installing Gnome

You seem to need a better mirror, read http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Mirrors , also clear your downloaded packages (cache) before trying again , as root do

pacman -Scc

Re: Error When Installing Gnome

Welcome to the forums Dethredic.

Try changing the order of your mirrors in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist and see if that helps.

Re: Error When Installing Gnome

thanks guys.

I did:
rm /var/cache/pacman/pkg/gtk2-2.14.7-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz

then tried reinstalling, and it worked just fine.
