AUR package search - Firefox Plugin

Hey guys, dont know if anyone has done this before or not, but just made a Q&D (quick and dirty) ff search plugin..

I use swift weasel so my plugin is in /home/USER/.mozilla/firefox/default/searchplugins
firefox should be /home/USER/.mozilla/firefox/default/searchplugins

anayway i your search directory, make a file called something like ArchPackages.xml , open it up in a txt ed, and paste:

<SearchPlugin xmlns="http://www.mozilla.org/2006/browser/search/" xmlns:os="http://a9.com/-/spec/opensearch/1.1/">
<os:ShortName>Arch-Packages</os:ShortName>
<os:Description>Arch-Packages</os:Description>
<os:InputEncoding>UTF-8</os:InputEncoding>
<os:Image width="16" height="16">data:image/x-icon;base64,AAABAAEAEBAAAAEAGABoAwAAFgAAACgAAAAQAAAAIAAAAAEAGAAAAAAAQAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWD////////////////////////////////////////////////////////RnWDRnWD///////+ATTOATTOATTOATTOATTOATTP////////////////////////RnWDRnWD///////+ATTOATTOATTOATTOATTOATTOATTP////////////////////RnWDRnWD///////////////////////+ATTOATTOATTOATTP////////////////RnWDRnWD///////////////////////+ATTOATTOATTOATTP////////////////RnWDRnWD///////////////////////+ATTOATTOATTOATTP////////////////RnWDRnWD///////////////////////+ATTOATTOATTOATTP////////////////RnWDRnWD///////////////////////+ATTOATTOATTOATTP////////////////RnWDRnWD///////////////////////+ATTOATTOATTOATTP////////////////RnWDRnWD///////////////////////+ATTOATTOATTOATTP////////////////RnWDRnWD////////////////////////////////////////////////////////RnWDRnWD///////////////////////////+ATTOATTP////////////////////RnWDRnWD///////////////////////////+ATTOATTP////////////////////RnWDRnWD////////////////////////////////////////////////////////RnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWDRnWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA</os:Image>
<UpdateInterval>1</UpdateInterval>
<UpdateUrl>http://btjunkie.org/btjunkie.src</UpdateUrl>
<IconUpdateUrl>http://www.archlinux.org/favicon.ico</IconUpdateUrl>
<SearchForm>http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php</SearchForm>
<os:Url type="text/html" method="GET" template="http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?K={searchTerms}&do_Search=Go&O=0">
</os:Url>
</SearchPlugin>

and there you go! package searches from firefox!

have'nt figured out the icon yet, but who cares, if somone wants to put one in there go nuts....

Re: AUR package search - Firefox Plugin

looks good.  that being said, there are already a few archlinux specific search engines listed at mozdev.org including an AUR package one.

Re: AUR package search - Firefox Plugin

Sorry for necromancing an old thread, but there is https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/OpenSearch which can handle this without any plugin in the client (Firefox or thereof). Although that means that the aur.archlinux.org should host an xml file with the search URL template.
