Hi, I've been using arch for a little over 2 weeks now and I really like it. My system is far from complete, but I'm working on it.
Amongst others, I got pulseaudio working, but today I updated to version 0.9.14-1 and my output device is gone and I have no clue how to get it back.
These are the packages that have been updated today
klibc-1.5.15-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
klibc-kbd-1.15.20080312-8-i686.pkg.tar.gz
klibc-extras-2.5-2-i686.pkg.tar.gz
kernel26-2.6.28-3-i686.pkg.tar.gz
pulseaudio-0.9.14-1.pkg.tar.gz
module-init-tools-3.5-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
nvidia-utils-180.22-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
consolekit-0.3.0-3-i686.pkg.tar.gz
alsa-plugins-1.0.18-1.pkg.tar.gz
man-pages-3.16-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
libatomic_ops-1.2-1.pkg.tar.gz
klibc-udev-135-2-i686.pkg.tar.gz
nvidia-180.22-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
intltool-0.40.5-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
klibc-module-init-tools-3.5-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
mkinitcpio-0.5.20-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
And as you can see, I only have the 'null' output
This is my /etc/asound.conf
pcm.pulse {
type pulse
}
ctl.pulse {
type pulse
}
pcm.!default {
type pulse
}
ctl.!default {
type pulse
}
There's no problem running pulseaudio, but I can't connect it to alsa...

bump?

I was fooling around with pacmd and I came to the conclusion that pulseaudio won't load the module 'module-alsa-sink'. I think if this works, my problem is solved.

Thank you all for your help
I fixed by uncommenting the load-module module-alsa-sink and load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:0,0.
To put it easy: hal didn't do his job right...

Ok, apparantly it was an other issue, it's not working anymore...

Ok, I just threw everything of my computer that had anything to do with pulseaudio (and also alsa-plugins) and reinstalled it, starting with alsa. Now everything works...
