kde4.2 desktop plasmoid

hi all :>
how can i add a "desktop view" plasmoid in kde4.2? i just can insert this folder view plasmoid which shows me the content of a specific folder. -.-

It's called "Folder View".  Right-click the desktop and add Folder View.

Don't quote me on this, but I think there is a way to stretch a folder view across the entire desktop invisibly.

As mrunion said. You can either have a folder view plasmoid (which is really what a "normal" desktop is, a view of a bunch of files in a directory), or have it across the entire desktop (but lose plasmoids!) as the Folder View option).

You don't lose plasmoids when you use the "folder view" (aka traditional desktop). They can still be added to the desktop.
