Video problems with both Super Mario World and Glest

I installed both and can't see any video. I get a "cannot display video mode" error. Glest doesn't log anthing to the console so I can't get errors for you, however smw does.

init SDL
 running @ 640x480 16bpp (done)

There's no need to post the rest of the ouput since this is all that's pertinent.

Below is my video card.

lspci
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE/PE DRAM Controller/Host-Hub Interface (rev 01)
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device (rev 01)

I don't know if its an issue about my video card not being able to handle these games. I play Wesnoth, I've played Croc: Legend of the Gobbos back when I used to use Windows. Can anyone help?
