howto recompile cairo

I would like to know how I should do a recompile of cairo with glitz. It is a dependency for cairo-dock. Should I uninstall cairo and then install the cairo-package from AUR that is compiled with glitz or is it a way to recompile it without uninstalling it and then install this new one.

If you don't know what is yaourt,
install the "yaourt" package, then use it (is a frontend for pacman which will also manage AUR packages (compiling them, etc)
