kdemod4 problem

Why "xmodmap .xmodmaprc" command works good kdemod3 but not kdemod4?
i want my volume key work on my laptop

How do you issue this command?
I went to systemsettings->Autostart and created a new desktp file that has this as command:
/usr/bin/xmodmap /home/val/.Xmodmap
Modify your paths accordingly.
