Standalone Compiz-Fuzion No Wallpaper

Anyone seen this?

I'm trying out compiz-fusion standalone.  It looks nice, except that it will not display desktop wallpaper.  I can go to the wallpaper utility and select a wallpaper, but nothing happens, the desktop remains black.  Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

If you are setting wallpaper using the ccsm plugin , then make sure you have jpeg plugin also active. Or you can use feh or nitrogen or some other background setting program.
