Adobe Reader wierd fonts

I have opened a few pdf's that have wierd fonts, I know the documents were created in Word on a windows computer, but when I open them up in Adobe Reader on Linux the fonts look like the picture below. Anybody know the cause of this or a fix? Thanks

Re: Adobe Reader wierd fonts

I'm guessing that the creator of the PDF didn't embed fonts with it, and you don't have the same fonts installed. If that's the case, the PDF reader will simply use what it thinks is the closest match. If you don't have it installed, try installing the package ttf-ms-fonts and see if that helps.

I actually have that package installed, that is why I am confused.

For some reason the connection to your server isn't working here anymore.

Re: Adobe Reader wierd fonts

that was in reference to my server being down as the image was not showing, the problem is still not resolved.
