Re: HELP!!! can't boot

First of all, you should have backed up your rc.sysinit script before replacing it, then you wouldn't be here asking for help in the first place.  Secondly you can simply use a live boot and chroot your filesystem and use pacman to reinstall the original initscripts from the package in /var/cache/pacman/pkg/

Re: HELP!!! can't boot

I did some changes  to the initscripts-splashy PKGBUILD in order for it to build the splashy package based on the new initscripts. Problem is now that my /var/cache/cache/pkg/ is empty. Can someone build the initscripts-splashy-2008.09-2 for me and put it up somewhere?

Re: HELP!!! can't boot

Just to make sure. If I use the livecd and chroot my way into my installation can I build a package from there, i.e. rebuild initscripts-splashy if I have PKGBUILD and other files on a usb stick that I mount then?
