strange behavior in Lyx

Hi,

I've stumbled to an strange behavior in Lyx. When I write a document (I have this problem in Finnish at least) and convert it to pdf, in every word that has "fi" in it has the "fi" syllable been replaced with white square. It also happens with "--". It doesn't happen for "FI" or "Fi" or any other combination that I've noticed.

I'm a bit puzzled here, could somebody try it and tell me if it is just me or is there a problem with the pdf converter?

greets,

Re: strange behavior in Lyx

This is a ligature problem (latex/dvips bug).

Solutions:
- If you use  dvips, use the -G0 option: dvips -Ppdf -G0 -o output_file.ps input_file.dvi

- Or, in your text, replace "fi" by"f{}i".  This will prevent latex to use ligatures.
