-> "This is known to cause problems..." ... hmm ... should we wait for next wxGTK?
-> "0 servers in server.met found" ... in fact, there is no server.met in the pkg ... can someone explain what this file is and where to get it? it seems to be a configuration file, but it seems that it is not provided with the sources
i added extra/network/amule/PKGBUILD to ABS, but the pkg will be available in extra, when we solved the points above

About the server.met file, it comes blank as default. You just have to update it when you first run it. The http address at the top is where it updates from.

ok, then (i have no experience with it and will also not be able to run it for hours, because of the bad connection)

good to know - so this message is not a trouble but normal behaviour on first run? good - i'll check the bins on deps when i come to my laptop and then (if anything ok) put it to extra - thanx for explaination

one question?
why compile azureus *g* seriously you can download the package, unpack it and run azureus.. no nothing and it works
so a package build would download the actual package, unpack it, maybe make a symlink to /usr/bin whereever and that's it.. 8)

why compile anything? somewhere, there are for sure some bins to copy around *g*
the main reason is, to make it work better on the installation it should work ... to use the correct version usw.
for java, this is often not needed, but it doesn't hurt either and is better than just copying some .class files in the PKGBUILD instead of compiling it, as this way, you make sure, the sources were compilable on the java version run by archlinux and also will run on this version without trouble
btw: amule is going to extra

hi,
I didn't mean compiling in general was bad, just for this specific case I thought it wouldn't help
However, I guess the java check that happens is good since I remember having trouble with jre1.5 and some path not being found and that took a moment and some talking to be fixed
