Trying to install: Kernal Panic

Hello smile

Alright, so after numerous attempts at trying to install I keep getting a kernal panic. It fails to find the link for hard drive, it will then retry numerous of times with finally ending in a "Cannot mount" and panic.

I'll be honest when I say I have no idea why this is happening, on top of that GRUB is giving me an error 17.

Thanks for any help ahead of time smile

Re: Trying to install: Kernal Panic

GRUB error 17 means that the root-partition can't be mounted. So maybe the entry for the partition in /boot/grub/menu.lst is not correct. You can start with a live-CD (e.g. Knoppix) to verify the entries in your menu.lst and fix it.
