Run UCS4 apps on arch (UCS2 unicode support only)

Hi.. I need a connection manager for my 3.5g modem.. I found vodafone-mobile-connect-driver, but is compiled witha  python version that support UCS4. In archlinux, the python interpreter is compiled with only ucs2 support, so this app can't be used..

There is a way to make usable this apps? Have i to recompile python with ucs4 support?
