Hello,
please I need help. I need to downgrade to OOo 2.4, I uninstalled new OOo and downgraded file
openoffice-base-2.4.0-0.3-i686.pkg.tar.gz
and tried to install, but I recieved error -
:: openoffice-base: vyžaduje xalan-java
xalan-java depedency. I downloaded PKGBUILD of java-xalan from AUR, but it needs some program what I can't find. I have problems with new OOo.
Is there some easy way to downgrade?
Really thanks

Does that missing dependency have a name?
In [Extra], there is a xalan-java; you might have better luck satisfying a dependency with the same name as the one required.
That java-xalan should probably be removed, as it has an unsatisfied dependency, and xalan-java seems to do the same thing.

LOL,
I'm sorry, my mistake, I have commented all repositories exclude kdemod (I have freezed system). Installation over pacman from local package was fine, but now I can't start soffice -writer or something other. Nothing happens, and nothing in console...

Just out of curiosity, why do you need to downgrade ?
The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...

Hmm, sounds like a system that would better be served by a less bleeding edge distro: you aren't going to get any security patches backported using arch.
The really easy thing would be to just use OOo 3.

because this:

looks like crap
that would be one of the reasons (for me)

Which DE are you running? KDE with the gtk-qt-engine?
Offline
yes,
KDE 3.5.9
gtk-qt-engine
this setup works for older OOorg (2.4.x) and firefox
I also adjusted ~.bashrc for OOorg 3.x
export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome
Offline
if you are running kde, why are you using gtk-qt-engine and why are you exporting for GNOME, why not just use
export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=KDE

Add in /etc/profile
export SAL_GTK_USE_PIXMAPPAINT=1

What does this do? Can someone explain that to me?
"... being a Linux user is sort of like living in a house inhabited by a large family of carpenters and architects. Every morning when you wake up, the house is a little different. Maybe there is a new turret, or some walls have moved. Or perhaps someone has temporarily removed the floor under your bed."
