From wiki install guide:
Add the hal daemon to the DAEMONS array in /etc/rc.conf to start it at every boot. See the article on Xorg input hotplugging for full details.
Note: To start hal there must be a dbus user and group: To do so enter the following commands as root
1. usr/sbin/groupadd -g 81 dbus
2. usr/sbin/useradd -c 'System message bus' -u 81 -g dbus -d '/' -s /bin/false dbus
No when I try that I get:
# usr/sbin/groupadd -g 81 dbus
bash: usr/sbin/groupadd: No such file or directory
Any advice?

sure. /usr/sbin/groupadd notice / from the beginning
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

There should be a slash (/) in front of both of those commands.
Edit: Too slow.
