Well, I've been practicing with a virtual box and I'm ready to install! But now I need to know: What should I do? Wait for a new ArchInstaller with ext4 (if it's even coming) or install with the current official?
Thanks in advance

If you want to use ext4 as the filesystem, then you can wait for the new installer otherwise choose the current one

Hi, after a couple of weeks spent seeking a stable overclock on my new pc, I am also looking to install Arch on the pc. I assume that I could burn the release candidate of the next official release on to a CD and install Arch with an ext4 file system this weekend?
LXDE installed on an Intel E5200 (oc to 3.25ghz), Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2 motherboard (GEForce 7100 graphics), 2GB 800mhz RAM & a 320GB WD SATA HD.

You can also setup an ext4 fs using the 2008.12 image, as described in this thread. You'll need a working internet connection during install, though, because there's a recent version of e2fsprogs needed.
I haven't reinstalled yet, but I plan to. If Dieter says the 2009.02 will become 2009.03, I'll rethink about converting manually.
EDIT: Of course, when you convert manually, there might be some hiccups on the way. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

I think we're pretty close to release now, I know it has been said a lot, but I'm pretty sure it won't be a .03

I converted my fs manually as described in this wiki: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ext4. No problems, however, you should defiantly back up your data first! If your just installing in a VM, this should be fine.

Alxe - some general forum advice: please use thread titles that summarise your query. "Install Arch" could be about almost anything.
More useful forum info in the stickies, and in the wiki's Forum Etiquette page.

If you want, archlinux-2009.02-RC1 already supports ext4.

RC2 is also out if you follow that link
