mplayer and xvmc

Hi!

I just wonder why mplayer comes default without XvMC support compiled in?

Any hints?

Re: mplayer and xvmc

Where do you see it? I'm looking the pkgbuild but i don't see something like "disable xvmc".
However if you are sure open a bug report.

You can't see it there, because it is disabled by default and there has to be a "--enable-xvmc" like stated here. But the wiki page seems outdated...

Re: mplayer and xvmc

XvMC only works on certain hardware, and even then, only works with the implementation from the hardware manufacturer. Honestly I don't know if this is the reason behind not adding it. You can always file a feature request in the bug tracker and see what happens.

and there you have your answer... Arch ships Vanilla Packages by default and normally uses the default compiler options.
