The rankmirrors script should be included in the beginners' guide

I thought it was at one point. But it's a very useful script and I use it everytime I install Arch. You probably should use it regularly just to make sure you're using the fastest mirrors.

Why isn't this mentioned in the pacman optimization wiki either?

Both of these documents are wiki pages. Feel free to make any amendments yourself.

Wow. I could have sworn that they were not mentioned in those wikis at all...

I need to shut my mouth (typing fingers) lately.
