Alright, so... Both problems emerged after the updates from the last few days.
Problem 1.
When I start X, my keyboard layout is probably "us" for a while instead of "fi", which it should be (right from the beginning!) according to my xorg.conf.
I'll give you an example: I'm using XFCE and MousePad as my editor. Right after I start X, I open up the editor and try my keyboard... I've got the US layout. So I open a new instance and woalah, it's with FI layout. After this, the layout stays the same.
Is this a bug or is it just me? Because, hell, I haven't touched my xorg configuration in a while and my layout used to work just fine.
Problem 2.
I keep getting this message all over the place, I never used to have it before:
Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":0.0".
Hopefully there are explanations and fixes to my problems
Thank you!
Oh and here's my xorg.cong... Just in case.
no need for this anymore...

Problem 1 solved. I fixed it by enabling xorg input hotplugging and changed the default keyboard layout in the configuration file for hotplugged keyboards...
I'm still trying to find a fix to problem 2.

On the Xlib warning. From http://www.archivesat.com/FreeBSD_curre … 535333.htm
This is harmless, it indicates that libXext has support for generic events, but the server does not yet.
I have it now also. Everything seems to work fine though.

Alright, thank you. Hopefully the server will soon support these generic events, or the warning will be silenced (preferably the former)

i get the warning with scrot as well, seems to still take the screenshot fine though. it does however break my absolute favorite openbox-tiling-extension! i could fix it if i knew any python, but i don't
