I didn't like the consistency of ibam so I wrote my own. It doesn't do nearly as much as ibam but it seems more consistant - at least for me. Anyways thought I'd share it for anyone who is interested. Here are a few sample outputs:

Very nice. Just what I was looking for to use with my dwm dzen widgets. Also brought my attention to this fine community forums. I've now got somewhere to post the CLI/Ruby extension keyboard switcher I recently made.
