Re: Arch Linux Newsletter for February, 2009 Discussion

Dieter Plaetinck wants to know when the next official Arch Linux iso release will be. He'll be glad to know that a new release team has been formed which will take great care of iso releases in the future.

LOL, that post you're referring to is when I was actively writing aif without being officially involved.  I'm actually one of the 3 in the releng team smile (which was founded soon after)

Heh, thanks for the support guys, Dieter@be we win. Thanks Dusty, the newsletter won't be of quality if it weren't for your proofreadings.

I hope the march newsletter to be the best release in some time.

Re: Arch Linux Newsletter for February, 2009 Discussion

And while we're being pedantic about proof-reading (:D), I feel there are too many commas here (only one after 'also' is really needed):

"Please, contact us, with your opinions and/or suggestions for improvement. Also, we love user contributions, so feel free to submit your article for consideration."

big_smile big_smile

oooh i spotted another typo in the devland section: They will start working on splitting KDE pacakges as soon as pacman provides support for them.

Do i get any points for this? tongue

Re: Arch Linux Newsletter for February, 2009 Discussion

The split KDE packages sound interesting. Any specific info on the "different goals" that KDEmod has as compared to Arch? I know they're focusing on Chakra, but they're still providing barely-patched modular KDE with very little wait time.

Great work, newsletter team!

Always a GREAT newsletter guys... but any chance of changing up the questions for the guest of the month?  I'd like to know more about their goals, their background, their recommendations? smile

The frontpage announcement misses the actual links it's referring to.

The interview section was part of a short discussion we had of things we'd like to improve in the future. Some of the changes will happen in the next newsletter, others may need a little more time and coordination, so I can't tell you for sure when it will happen.

Yeah, thanks for your suggestion, this is something I've been longing to improve, but because of time restrictions never got to it. Now, that pressh is takin over all major parts and I am in charge of the interview still, I ahve more time to improve on this. Also, an email with you questions suggestions might help a bit. eduardo at archlinux org

Wait, in the announcement they are. On the homepage they aren't. Forget it.
