I don't really have 5 fav right now, but I really like the new note taking system Tomboy. It took me a while to get it working, but I really think this is the best note taking invention since 3M invented the sticky notes!!!!

I'm sorry so many of you wrote "java".
And I wonder why according to most of you aterm is the best terminal emulator. Rxvt provides everything one needs and takes half as much memory as aterm! (aterm was based on rxvt; what makes it so bloated?)
