[SOLVED] Problem regarding openbox and conky

Hi everyone,

At the moment my DE is XFCE. Until last week I was satisfied with it, until I read about openbox. Now I have them both installed, but I ran into something I can't figure out.

Both in XFCE and in openbox I autostart conky and in both I use rightclick to open the menu.

The difference is that in XFCE I can rightclick on conky to bring up the menu, but in openbox I can't. Also if I maximize a window in XFCE it hides conky. If I do the same in openbox, conky hides a part of the maximized window. Is there something that I'm missing here?

My .conkyrc:

But plz understand me right, to my opinion the problem is not in XFCE but in openbox. I always have my windows next to conky and rightclick on conky to bring up the menu. In XFCE this works fine, but in openbox it doesn't.

Re: [SOLVED] Problem regarding openbox and conky

No, I installed openbox this weekend.

edit:

This is what I mean, I'm in XFCE and rightclick on conky and the menu pops up. If I do the same when in openbox, it looks like the menu is behind conky.

Re: [SOLVED] Problem regarding openbox and conky

I can right click on conky in openbox and the menu shows. It not only shows, but it's above conky. My conky config is close to vanilla (and boring like me):

 # set to yes if you want Conky to be forked in the background
background yes

# Update interval in seconds

Re: [SOLVED] Problem regarding openbox and conky

Thanks skottish,

Problem solved:

Changing

own window yes

to

own window no

solved the problem.

Now when I right-click on conky my menu pops up and when I move a window over conky, the window covers conky. Just as I want it.

Thanks again.
