Recently I compiled mozilla-branded using pkgbuild (it is placed in /var/abs/local/), but now when I issue pacman -Syu, I get the following error
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: firefox-branded: requires xulrunner=1.9.0.5
Trying to issue a pacman -Sy xulrunner results in the same error, and the only way to make -Syu functional is by using: pacman -Syu --ignore xulrunner. How do I get rid of that error (are there different steps because it was self compiled) ?
Oh, and as a note:
[tom@laptop ~]$ xulrunner -v
Mozilla XULRunner 1.9.0.5 - 2008123017
I hope that was enough information, if not just ask.
Thanks.

the problem is at firefox-branded. he has dependency xulrunner=1.9.0.5 and pacman want to update xulrunner to 1.9.0.6
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

So when a new version of firefox-branded comes out, using 1.9.0.6, pacman will update without error?
Ah, I just found firefox branded again, and it does use the -06 version of xulrunner.
Thanks wonder!

every time a new version of xulrunner comes out you need to recompile firefox-branded
