Hi new arch linux user here (installed it earlier today, using x86_64)
I've googled some and havn't come up with a solution. I am a old windows user, and got used to playing up rar-archives with VLC without extracting them first. I wonder if there's a solution this
And please know that I'm nowhere near to be a linuxguru. I've had gentoo installed on my server for some time, but it just runs and requires no further configuration So my skillz are quite limited so if you got an answer please keep it simple
Cheers!

i'm not quite sure because i don't use vlc as my main player, but I think this might be what you're looking for?

I've actually tried that, and followed the installation options; both manual and from the install script, neither did work

crap, yeah i just tried it too and it didn't work. You might try to build it from source and see if that works, it looks kind of involved though. I might try alittle bit later if I have some time, sorry about that.
