Xfce annoying problem with open files

(sorry my english is bad)

* i set in my Xfce the app totem to open AVI files when i do a double click on thunar to the AVI file. This work fine but when i restart a couple of times the AVI files is opened by default with banshee.
I have the same problem with many files:
* i set gpicview to see JPG, PNG, etc, and later are opened by default with GIMP :@
* i set file-roller to open rar, zip, and later are opened by default with WINE :@

this problem is not caused with system updates, so i don't know what to do.
