Emerald

The emerald theme manager is constantly freezing/crashing on me.  What gives?  It seems to be ok until I change any settings (particularly the sliders).  Also Sometimes my active window loses the close restore and minimize buttons.

Re: Emerald

I figuered out that if I set the "buttons glow" differently on the foreground and background windows then the buttons disappear.  In other words if I set the buttons to pulse glow any color on the background window but not on the focus window then the buttons disappear on whatever window I am focused on.  Still haven't figuered  out the emerald theme manager freezing problem any suggestions?

Re: Emerald

This seems to be common. It happened to me a lot too when I was using compiz standalone. It's more likely to happen the more themes you have installed. Sorry I haven't heard of a solution to this either. Probably needs to be fixed upstream.

Re: Emerald

On the Emerald freezing, happened to me too. Just wait and be patient, I guess.

Let's hope that since the Compiz team has recently pulled through a huge crisis (more info on Phoronix, basically they were splitting this way and that, but they're all merged now, even Compiz Fusion is now part of Compiz, and they have a true lead group), they'll be able to whip Compiz back into shape and fix the annoying bugs big_smile
