After installing 2009.2, I noticed modules is empty, I remember it should have snd-* something, in Gnome the sound does not work properly.
When I install, I selected base-devel, but I did not select all files in the list, so is it the reason for the problem?
And can anyone post their modules list so I can add necessary modules to my list?
Thanks!!!

It's supposed to be empty. udev now takes care of it automatically.
As for the sound problem, you probably have the "PC speaker module loads first" issue, which can be solved by putting "!snd_pcsp" into MODULES and thereby blacklisting the PC speaker driver.

wait... did you update using an iso image?

Your list of modules will depend on your specific hardware configuration. But if you really want to list them instead of relying on auto-detection, do this:
# hwdetect --modules

Yeah, I know... I should have typed: add the output of the above command to your /etc/rc.conf
I think it all boils down to this phenomenon that some people feel less secure when they don't see their modules listed explicitly.

It is not a matter of self-confidence, if I leave it empty, I won't have sound in Gnome, if I write snd_* or !snd_pcsp, I can have sound.

I enable and blacklist some modules by hand as well.
Forgive the failed attempt at a humorous remark in my previous post.
