Hey, I'm back with my next error!
It seems that while the keyboard configuration works on the CLI, it gets a little messed up in certain applications: terminals (uxterm, aterm, urxvt), xedit, and sometimes seamonkey. Seems to work in leafpad, though.
Whereas my normal layout is like so:
`1234567890-=
qwertyuiop[]\
asdfghjkl;'
zxcvbnm,./
What I get in the programs I mention is like so:
²&é"'(§è!çà)-
azertyuiop^$µ
qsdfghjklmù
wxcvbn,;:=
So like, a few of the keys get switched in the letter area, and crazy crap happens on the top row.
So...where can I start?
EDIT: Alright, sweet, it turned out I had hotplugging disabled through some automated Xorg configuring program (I didn't know what it meant at first, so I thought, "nope," and here we are.). So to undo that, I erased the line on /etc/X11/xorg.conf saying:
Option "AutoAddDevices" "False"
Good stuff. Learning a lot.
