end trace 4eaa2a86a8e2da22 virtualbox

I'm trying out archlinux 2009.02 and am very excited about everything the arch community stands for and am keen to get involved

In order to make sure I'm up to the job I've tried to install arch 2009.02 in a virtual machine on virtualbox and I've hit a brick wall shown in the picture below

I mount the .iso, select from the blue screen boot arch linux and see a scroll of text followed by the "end trace" message shown below

I have tried downloading the .iso from both bittorrent and a mirror to no avail

Google has shown no light and I've tried to search your wiki/forums but I'm not sure I've done a great job in this respect

Any help is much appreciated

Maybe just a bug in virtualbox, give the real thing a try and boot the iso from a cd or flash drive on the real hardware smile

Thanks for your reply smile

Though that will probably work I had my heart set on having arch in a virtual machine for now so I could read the wiki/forums while I learn my way around the system

Well yes, I would advise you to do that until you feel comfortable enough to install it in the physical machine smile. Just don't let this "problem" give you a bad idea about Arch.
Maybe you can try an older Arch install image (do an ftp install so you get everything up to date) and see how that goes .... getting an older install image might be tricky though. The last official install image before the current one (2008.06) worked well for me with virtualbox, I'm using it now for a "special" purpose big_smile.
