problem with ogg files.

I can't hear login and logout sounds. The is jest strange noise coming.
If i play it with aplay - there is also noise.

aplay /usr/share/sounds/KDE-Sys-Log-Out.ogg
Playing raw data '/usr/share/sounds/KDE-Sys-Log-Out.ogg' : Unsigned 8 bit, Rate8000 Hz, Mono

Same here.

aplay /usr/share/sounds/KDE-Sys-Log-Out.ogg

Produces noise only.

It's pretty simple... Read "man aplay". Basically, aplay only supports voc, wav, raw and au formats.

I never realized this one. Always thought aplay would handle ogg as well. sad
The sound file is o.k. then, as

mplayer /usr/share/sounds/KDE-Sys-Log-Out.ogg

works properly.

The original KDE problem remains. Could be caused by the sound setup. Any details available?
