Hello. Mplayer comes in a version on Arch that I don't like. I have never been able to have it really good working. I have had a lot more luck with the smplayer version. Do I have to do a complete removal of mplayer first and then install SMplayer or is it some other way. I have both the default version and SMplayer installed now.

Ok. Thankyou

smplayer, gnome-mplayer, etc are just frontends to mplayer. mplayer does all the grunt work.
