Cleaning ou the junk.
I am currently trying to clean my Arch installation of proprietary software and wondered what was the best way to find out what is proprietary and what to replace it with.

pacman -Qi | grep -B3 "custom"will give you a list of packages with "custom" licenses (i.e. licenses that are not in our licenses package). Not a complete answer but a start.
