Problem with mp3 id3 tags

Hi!

I've ripped my CD's with abcde and id3v2 tags. In abcde conf I've set it use utf8 CDDB entries. For some reason special characters like äöå won't display correctly in tags. They work on filenames and I've have uft8 and iso-8859-1/15 enabled as locale. I'm running them on MPD.

Cheers!

Re: Problem with mp3 id3 tags

I don't use abcde, but does it write the tags in a version lower than id3v2.4? Because UTF-8 support has been implemented in the 2.4 release (UTF-16 in 2.3).

Re: Problem with mp3 id3 tags

I have narrowed the issue to MPD. It's not a  problem with tags being broken but MPD being unable to read them. Mp3blaster reads them correctly. So, I think that the problem might be in MPD configuration.
Current MPD configuration

filesystem_charset "UTF-8"
id3v1_encoding "UTF-8"

Locale is set to en_US.utf8 and in locale.gen I have

en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
en_US ISO-8859-1
fi_FI.UTF-8 UTF-8
fi_FI ISO-8859-1
fi_FI@euro ISO-8859-15

So what should the MPD settings be if these won't work?

Thanks!
