Are groups updated?

I am familiar with apt and Debian's meta-packages. Do groups behave the same way as meta-packages?
For instance, suppose I do

pacman -S groupname

On the next day packageA is removed from the group and packageB is added to it.
If I then do the following system update will packageA be removed from my system, with packageB being installed ?

pacman -Syu

Re: Are groups updated?

Thanks for the info -- I'll try and find the time to write a wiki entry explaining this to users. People coming from apt-based distros would assume the opposite.
