Arch Linux installer on Acer Aspire One

Hello

I'm having some troubles with installing Arch on my Acer Aspire One (this is the version with Linpus Linux). I have downloaded the installer FTP-USB image from the web site and copied the image to my 256 MB USB stick as usual with dd. However, when I try to boot my AA1 machine from it, it halts to the place where it gives "GRUB loading, please wait..." and nothing shows up. I tested the USB installer media on a different machine and it boots fine.

Any ideas?

Re: Arch Linux installer on Acer Aspire One

Have you checked the md5sum of it?

I am also using a AA1 (8G SSD model) and my installation went fine with a 2G USB.

Re: Arch Linux installer on Acer Aspire One

Did you use the 2009.02-2 installer or something earlier?

EDIT: Yes, I checked the sha1sum

EDIT: Hmm, strangely it works with a 2GB USB stick but not with a 256 MB. Thanks anyway!
