[Solved]Problems with correctly configuring X

Hello! I'm new to this forum, but not that new to Arch. In past I managed to get it working, but now I have a wireless USB mouse and keyboard and I just can't get X to work right. I have nvidia card (6600) so i instlled nvidia package, and did

nvidia-xconfig

. But when is do the

startx

my keyboard nor mouse work.
I'm installing it the second time (the whole Arch) and previously I could get mouse to work (I did every possible way to configure X) and keyboard kind of worked. That is it worked in Xterm, but if I tried ctr+alt+backspace nothing happened.
I also was able to install KDE on previous installation, but it looked really wrong.
And last time I really tried everything that's been proposed i wiki.
This time i want to get it right, that's why I don't want to continue with my configuration before I actually know what to do.
Any help si welcomed.
And if this post looks weird it's because I write from Links and I have no idea how it will actually look like.

Re: [Solved]Problems with correctly configuring X

Please read this and the wiki page it links to.
Short story:
1. use evdev + hal  or..
2. disable hotpluging.

Re: [Solved]Problems with correctly configuring X

Thanks!
I forgot to say that last time I was trying to get X to work I did both of them, but it just didn't work.
I'll first try to install 7.4 (if I don't ready have it) then I'll proceed with trying to use other options.

Re: [Solved]Problems with correctly configuring X

Well it seems that hal and evdev do make a difference, as now my keyboard works, but now mouse doesn't work.
I'll try to reboot and see if that works.
Hope I can make both work at the same time big_smile!
I guess that first time it was really problem with to many xorg.conf generated, as I just did everything to ensure that it will work.
