You should check this 2 wiki pages http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Acc … dows_share & http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sea … ork_shares
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass...and I'm all out of bubblegum.

Can you mount the folder directly using mount? If so, then it appears to be an issue with pyneighbourhood rather than with the XP machine itself.
Try mount -t cifs //server/home -o username=username
See what happens, you may need to run sudo first.

I had PyNeighborhood working fine using CIFS until I upgraded to 0.5.0 last week and suddenly I can't connect to my XP shares either. I didn't have the older version of PyNeighborhood in my cache so I could not downgrade easily. I know I have the correct IP address for the Windows machine (as I can access my squeezecenter music server which is installed on the XP box (it is operating as a NAS) so I'm thinking that it is PyNeighborhood-specific.
LXDE installed on an Intel E5200 (oc to 3.25ghz), Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2 motherboard (GEForce 7100 graphics), 2GB 800mhz RAM & a 320GB WD SATA HD.
