Wine: audio clips in some programs

Hi,

I installed wine for kicks so I can throw out Windows. I found that some apps in Windows that play sound have their audio clipped, while others (I tested with Winamp) is perfectly fine. I tried all 3 audio drivers (ALSA, OSS, Jack), and I have alsa installed. Is this common or the way this app is coded? Any way to fix it?

Thanks.

Re: Wine: audio clips in some programs

Does it happen often with the same applications?

Do you have 'Full' hardware accelerated sounds on in your winecfg?

Do any audio specific errors or warnings come up in the console when running wine?

There are a few programs where I have sound issues that are unavoidable, but the vast majority of them work fine.

Re: Wine: audio clips in some programs

if you set the directsound hardware acceleration dropdown box to 'Emulation' in winecfg it will fix music in programs requiring midi, mod, xm ...
