Basic Keyboard shorcuts not working

I have just done a fresh install with KDE 4.2,  but for some reason the standard keyboard shortcuts are not working.

For example ctrl alt backspace to restart X, ctrl alt f1 etc to get switch tty.

I have install arch several times before with no issues,  and dont think I have done anything differently.

Can anyone help!

thanks

ps.
I have checked the settings in rc.conf and xorg.conf and the keymap settings and suchlike all look fine.

Re: Basic Keyboard shorcuts not working

Welcome to the forums.

Ctrl+Alt+Backspace is disabled by default now. This was done upstream. Somewhere in this thread there is a solution:

Re: Basic Keyboard shorcuts not working

FYI, Ctrl+Alt+Backspace is only disabled by default in xorg-server 1.6, which is in the testing repo. If you have enabled the testing repo and updated your system after install, that explains that part of your problem, but not the Ctrl+Alt+Fx issue.
