moljac has the answer. since i use the terminal a lot, dwm, larswm, ratpoison, stumpwm, evilwm are all subject to my experiments. never a huge fan of applets or status monitors as such, so prefer the aforementioned wm's without a lot of configuration.

Finally found a wallpaper that works ok with semi-transparent terminals.
Still EvilWM, but thicker border for windows.

/offtopic
Started coding a simple OSD system today that I will use with EvilWM. There's no way of telling the window title or which virtual desk  you are on in the current version of EvilWM, So I will hack the EvilWM "info" key to use the OSD to display title/geometry and the virtual desk it's on. The OSD will be as lightweight and simple as possible and will be released as soon as I finish it. Maybe it makes AUR or extra
PS Even better..I might make EvilWM itself have the simple OSD system.

My KDEmod 4.2.1 with Qt4.5 desktop:

Plasma theme: Sabre Tiger and Bare Naked (for widgets)
Window decoration: Bespin
Wallpaper: One from package: Arch_artwork

I know it looks very "mackish"
