tvtime gives noisy sound with oss

Hi
I just installed ossv4 on my PC to replace alsa, everything works smoothly, just tvtime has very bad, noisy sound.
Maybe this is not fault of tvtime, but issue of tv card. It is connected via external cable to sound card. This solution has been working for years with alsa. Perhaps it is an issue of oss mixer settings?

If I fail to fix this, this would be showstopper for me and oss on my PC . No big deal anyway, I would go back to alsa....
