Keyboardmap and X - possible bug?

Hi, I was on a skitrip this weekend and brought my computer.There was no internetconnection, and I didn't use root-privileges. I was dealing with some photos in smile, left the computer a while, and came back and found it frozen. I reebooted, and I kdm didn't start, but I got textbased login. And then when I started to type my username, all keys where completly randomized... what happend here?
