It is supposed to play an audio/midi file. Firefox can't automatically install the plugin and I'm not sure what it wants. Flash works fine for me, I watch YouTube vids all the time. Any ideas? Google turned up nothing except help for Ubuntu!

On my system MIDI files, or .mid, are being associated with gecko-mediaplayer (Mplayer). I don't have any kind of MIDI setup so it doesn't do anything.

The file is embedded though? That doesn't make a difference? If not, how do I associate .mid with a player (I use VLC mostly) in KDEmod4?

The file is embedded. I'm not sure how to create an external launcher to VLC from Firefox. Have you tried the VLC-Firefox plug-in?
If you want a sample file from that site to try out, do this:
wget http://www.good-ear.com/tmp/D0384C183B3BDCE54359526F17A5FAD6_1.mid

I've decided to try and get mplayer working. I installed gecko-mediaplayer and am going to attempting installing the plugin.

I just installed mplayer and mplayer-plugin since they were in the repositories already. Does this work fine (for 64bit I mean)?

ARRGGG! Now I have a small "play," "stop" and "volume" button embedded in the page where the empty space was, but it doesn't work! So close, yet so far. It's mocking me. Not sure what is wrong. Does mplayer require configuration?

That's what I meant by it does nothing. The upside is that gecko-mediaplayer is an awesome plug-in otherwise. Anyway, check this out:

I installed timidity, timidity-freepats and mozplugger, however it still doesn't work. There was an error during installation--it said /sbin/ldoch (or something /sbin/...) was "full." Weird and annoying.
My root partition is full. That explains it. I'll report back in after a parition (geez I guess kdemod is really big)
edit: What is a good GUI partition manager I can get with pacman? ArchWiki/Common Apps turned up nothing, nor did a wiki search.

I installed gparted-svn but can't find any documentation in the Arch Wiki or man pages for it. How do I use it?

Also clear your pacman cache, it could be taking your space up.
pacman -Scc
