Plasma and/or VirtualBox?

Has anyone ever worked with KDE's plasma?  If so...any good pointers...I'm a bit lost with where to begin, but slowly working my way through it...

Has anyone ever done any customisation / digging through the VirtualBox OSE code?  Altering of GUI, using GUI elements...anything like that?

I've got a hair brained idea and two ideas for implementation - one that should be easy but kind of "meh" as far as usability...the other method requires digging into the VBox code much more directly - which is a bit daunting but may be the better call...

in case you havent guessed - I'm aiming to make a plasmoid for launching VM's from VirtualBox...possibly expand it to launch the disk manager, settings tabs for VMs, etc...but we'll see haha.

Any assistance, thoughts, or words of wisdom appreciated
