I have a minor annoyance with the evolution mail client. If I try to open an attachment created by a MS application (doc xls ppt) on an email by double-clicking on the attachment icon, it will not open. A right-click to select the openoffice application (writer, calc, impress) will open the attachment. There is only the one option listed, the correct one, when I open the attachment with a right click.
When I run "top" and then double-click on the email attachment, "top" will show wine-server briefly. This makes me think that evolution wants to use wine or crossover office to open the attachment.
I have both wine and crossover-office installed, but not MS Office on either.
I have tried to look through some mime and application configuration files in /usr/share/ and in ~/ but I cannot see what will make evolution try to open MS attachments with wine-server in one instance, and openoffice in another. I would like to know which files would control this behaviour so I can see if it can be corrected.
This PC is running LXDE desktop environment.
