Hello,
I use 64-bit Arch and Firefox 3.0.7. I installed the 64-bit Flash plugin. It works, but only for some pages.
YouTube videos play OK, but this: http://www.picfindr.com/ (search for anything) doesn't, it tells me I have no Flash plugin, even though I do.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

works fine here.
firefox 3.0.7-1
flashplugin 10.0.22.87-1
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

It works for me here. (It doesn't, however, work with a 32-bit nspluginwrapper-installed plugin.)

Works for me too.

Doesn't work here.
firefox 3.0.7-1
flashplugin 10.0.22.87-1
I've known for a while that vimeo works for others but not on my system. Anyone got any ideas about extra packages the flashplugin could require?

No problems with that link on any other BBC content so far.

@ Everyone: All sites posted here work for me.
@ Renan Birck: what does it say in about:plugins?
@ N30N: Hijacker!
Do you get any messages on the command line?
@ giorgidze: Welcome to the forums. Hijacker!
Do you get any error messages from the command line either?

I had checked in previous versions and it never said anything helpful. But now it's giving the following message.
zsh: illegal hardware instruction firefox "http://www.picfindr.com/"

No, I am not getting any error messages from the command line. The browser just hangs and becomes unresponsive (until it is killed and restarted, of course).
I suspect this is a flash related issue because Opera and epiphany also hang on very same BBC content.
I should note that flash content works on all other pages I have tried so far (e.g. google video, youtube and some random ones).
Cheers, George

Just tried it on IceWM and it opened myriards of cookie requests up to the limit. Thereafter firefox hang, i.e. the cookie dialogs became unresponsive. After force closing all those dialog windows, everything worked again.
To know or not to know ...
... the questions remain forever.

@bernarcher
I am not getting any dialogue windows.
All of this is very confusing ... I wonder what is the reason of a number of radically differing behaviours.

That's exactly what I'm seeing too. Hmmm? I'm not sure where else to look.

might be a simple question, but do you have any active script blockers? try going to edit -> preferences -> clear private data?
are you behind a firewall?

I have uninstalled flashplugin and after that played with gnash and swfdec a bit.
When I installed flashplugin back into my system BBC content started to work like a charm .

Indeed, when flash crashes it takes Firefox with it (nothing new). As I got the same message as you, I think you can rule ATI drivers as the issue (I'm running nvidia 180.29-3).

No script blockers here. Cleared private data. No firewalls. Still no go

The adobe web page that you jus metioned works for me.
However, BBC News content hangs again . I reinstalled flashplugin but it did not do the trick. So, I am back in the team of frustrated users .

For some reason, if I block JavaScript (using NoScript) on the pages where Flash doesn't work, I get normal operation... Right now I got PicFindr and other online apps working.
Strange, huh? I guess it's some JavaScript check that fails, therefore a website bug?
