I started a topic in Desktop Environments a year ago that is now over 1000 posts and 100k views and I'm a little concerned that it may be a bit of a problem by adding more load to this server than need be. Perhaps PunBB is handling it easily but if not then let me know and we can work something out... like freeze the current thread and I'll start a new one or even remove all but the first message from the current one and start over again or... whatever.
I don't know how else to reach the site maintainers. Any issues with a quite large and still growing thread?

I'm sure the mods would have closed it and requested a new thread be opened if it was an issue. The server can handle the queries, and since threads are paginated, I doubt its all that more taxing than a separate thread.
Having said that, large threads are a pain in the ass for readers. I usually assume anything over 3 pages is either bikeshed or off topic, and don't typically open it (unless its one I'm playing with or deliberately taking off topic, of course...)

This thread will beat yours for sure:

Really, its not a concern. If it was, PunBB would be a terrible forum software and we would have found a solution that doesn't suck.

I'm not concerned about who has the biggest... you know, whatever.
@toofishes: thanks for the reassurance that there is nothing to worry about. I'll relax and look forward to another year of posts in the same thread then and assume someone will say something if there is a "problem" some day.
