Hi,
I'm using Gran Paradiso, and have JRE installed. When I visit web sites, I am being told that I need the plug-in. It seems that somehow GP doesn't associate with JRE. Can anyone help me resolve this?
Thanks,
Chris.

if you are using x86_64 the current jre package from community did not have a plugin for browser because sun doesn't provide it. jre_beta from aur has it.

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

You could also try openjdk6, which is the open source version. It's not quite compatible with everything, though.
I tend to waffle between Sun's beta version and openjdk6 depending on what I'm trying to do.

jre from community doesn't provide a browser plugin before 6u11. from 6u12 it does. just install jre_beta from aur
